BMW X5

Next-Gen 2024 BMW X5 Concept

2024 BMW X5 Concept

2024 BMW X5 – Last year’s BMW Concept 4 featured the German brand’s newly designed front kidney grille that will debut with the new M3 and M4, as well as the regular 4 Series Coupe, before being tweaked and applied to the all-electric BMW i4.

While the recently facelifted BMW 5 Series and Gran Turismo 6 Series have escaped this sharp-toothed style grille, we expect other BMW models to adopt an enlarged grille in the coming years, and this could include the next-generation X5.

YouTuber TheSketchMonkey recently started working to see what the new X5 looks like with Grill, like the one in Concept 4.

By installing this new grille, the designer also completely overhauled the entire front of the SUV. That means the bottom grille and air intake have been remodeled and look very different from the current model.

While the design work done was impressive, we thought BMW would make a mistake if it took a design route similar to the next X5, whenever it might get into the market.

However, not all hope is lost with BMW’s current design language. One thing we love is the thinner, more angled headlights that have been featured on a number of the carmaker’s latest concepts, as well as the new Series 5.

While it may not be as high as the headlights currently used by the X5, it does give an extra sporty look to an SUV that we think looks good.

This 2024 BMW X5 digital image is based on the latest BMW Concept cars, the Concept 4 and the BMW E4.

The imaginary 2024 X5 has a giant front kidney grille that carries the identity of the famous BMW car, but in a futuristic interpretation, surrounded by thin headlights, and the body also gets sharp lines.

BMW X5 2023 with Hydrogen Power

Limited production of the 2023 BMW X5 will be equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain from the end of 2022, stamped as BMW I Hydrogen Next – but will not yet be publicly available.

Hydrogen X5 will use two carbon fiber reinforced tanks with a total capacity of 6kg. The fuel cell converts hydrogen into electricity, which will drive the electric motor mounted on the rear axle of the BMW SUV.

A total of 275kW is offered, aided by a high-voltage battery that delivers additional electrical performance when requested by the driver.

BMW said such vehicles would “guarantee a wide range in all weather conditions” – referring to the fact that battery-powered vehicles can lose between 20 to 50 percent of their mileage in cooler temperatures – while refueling with hydrogen takes less than four minutes.

First revealed in 2019, hydrogen fuel cell technology was developed as part of a collaboration between BMW and Toyota, signed in 2013.

In addition, Toyota recently began offering a small number of hydrogen-powered Mirai models for rent in Australia.

BMW I Hydrogen Next will enter a small ‘pilot’ production by the end of 2022. Still, the company says further commitment from the government is needed before it can offer hydrogen-powered models to the public.

BMW expects to begin offering hydrogen-powered models to the public in the second half of the decade.

2023 BMW X5 M LCI

Known in BMW as LCI (Life Cycle Impulse), the X5 G05 facelift is expected to arrive in the first half of 2022, followed by a crazy M version a few months later.

The BMW X5 G05 is currently based on the CLAR (Cluster Architecture) car manufacturer platform and other models with longitudinally placed engines such as the BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series, meaning it is packed with almost all the latest technology from the brand.

At launch, it was the first X5 to finally get features such as a four-corner air suspension or a much better plug-in hybrid version that could go head-to-head with its competitors.

The X5 M and X5 M competition is also the most powerful SUV in BMWs history. This is probably why the facelift for these two models won’t provide extra power but improve models in other areas.

By the way, the prototype BMW X5 M 2023 pre-production was recently seen in testing, not long after the plug-in hybrid version was caught on the public road as well.

Instead of completely disguising the model, BMW engineers decided to reposition the current version of the bumper to hide the changes that could be found on the LCI model, including a slightly reshaped bumper and new headlights taillight graphics.

Because the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine is powerful enough, modifications under the hood may only include adding a 48V lightweight hybrid system to improve fuel economy.

On the inside where most of the difference compared to non-LCI models will be found, with BMW overhauling the center console entirely.

2023 BMW X5 M LCI Features

Set to feature the latest version of the BMW iDrive, both the regular BMW X5 LCI and the updated X5 M will feature a driver’s view similar to the recently launched BMW iX electric SUV.

A 12.3-inch cluster of digital instruments combined with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen will form a single curved unit, giving the driver more control over the much-improved iDrive 8.0 system launched on the iX.
