New 2023 BMW M2 Redesign

New 2023 BMW M2 Redesign – BMW is working on a redesign for the 2 Series coupe—which dates back to 2014—and the plan is to keep using the rear-wheel drive. This means that our favorite 2-Series variant, the M2, won’t lose its hardcore edge.

British outlets also reported that the M2 variant of the car will feature detuned versions of the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6 found in the X3 M and X4 M and destined for the next M3 and M4. The inside said it expects about 420 horsepower in the New 2023 M2, which rises far at 365 hp from the current M2. It even outperforms 405 hp of the current M2 Competition.

If recent rumors are to be believed, however, the incoming BMW M2 could create far more power and sit at the top of the compact M-badged lineup BMW wants to unleash in the future.

When that happens, the new M2 will flex the same six cylinders as the undisclosed BMW M3 and M4, which we know get their juice from the same engines found inside the X3 M and X4 M (where it emits 473 or 503 horsepower).

If that’s the case, then the S58 factory will kick out the S55 found inside the current BMW M2, but it will come in detuned taste. According to the same source, the unit will rev for 7,200 rpm inside the New M2 and can produce more than 420 horsepower inside the standard M2.

This move makes sense in the world, especially since the BMW M has to fend off the threat coming from Mercedes-AMG. Affalterbach’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces as much as 416 horsepower, so the M mechanical wizard is undoubtedly willing to do its best.

What’s more, the S58 is compatible with the BMW M Sport’s eight-speed automatic because that’s what it’s paired with inside the X3 M/X4 M. It hasn’t been decided whether BMW will offer a new M2 with a selection of manual gearboxes, but the brand’s fan base will no doubt cry for one.

The new BMW M2 will be based on the upcoming second-generation 2 Series Coupé, which will sit under BMW’s CLAR, so the engine will still be installed longitudinally.

There is no word on whether BMW will try to implement some form of electrification inside the new M2, so for now, it is safe to assume that it will be a pure ICE car, at least until we get an official word from BMW that says otherwise.
