BMW R 1250 RS LED HEADLIGHTS
Thanks to its innovative strengths, the manufacturer is rapidly establishing itself as a trendsetter in this field and will continue to achieve new benefits in terms of motorcycle safety in the future.
The latest example of BMW Motorrad’s innovative power in this field is the full-LED headlights with integrated daytime drive lights, which are available for the first time in the production of the motorcycle series- R 1200 GS.
These LED headlights illuminate the street with unrivaled light clarity as to the only one of its kind in the world. LEDs for high beam headlights are very different and have a strong light intensity with their two glass lenses. In addition, optional accessories also have tail lights, which provide a better rear view with two bars.
The automatic transition between the daytime riding lamp and the low beam headlights is performed automatically depending on the settings in the instrument cluster menu.
With daylight riding lights turned on, motorcyclists are significantly more visible and therefore much safer. Added to this is the striking display of the horizontal “U”, which – as with the light rings on the K 1600 model – is a clear identification feature of the new GS.
The light unit has two LEDs each for low and high beams, and four additional LEDs for daytime riding lights and position lights. It is fastened to a central heat sink made of die-cast aluminum.
The standard fan is positioned behind the hot sink. This air circulation allows the headlights to melt and also contributes actively to the de-icing of the headlight lens in winter.
TFT display with connectivity
Connect your smartphone to your bike via Bluetooth. The 6.5-inch TFT screen shows everything about your motorcycle and offers you along with additional smartphones app features such as navigation, music, and phone.
