New BMW 2 Series Active Tourer 2021 Specs Price – BMW is preparing a redesign for a compact 2-Series Tourer minivan that is never sold in the United States. The 2-series AT is BMW’s first feature front-wheel drive when it arrives in 2014. Given the traditional product cycle of BMW, this redesigned model must be launched at the end of 2020 or the beginning of the following year. And we do not expect to reach the US, either.
The redesigned 2-series AT is similar in size to the current model but it looks to have a slimmer design. The wheelbase also looks to be a bit longer which should produce more interior space. The design is obviously evolutionary but there are some marked changes, such as side mirrors moving to the door instead of sitting at the base of A-pillar, and lattice growing in size.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer change
Scheduled to enter production at 2021, the All-new 2 Series Active Tourer will undergo significant changes. For starters, it will be larger than the current model as it will need to replace both the Active Tourer and Gran Tourer minivans.
Given the current state of the market where MPVs are increasingly losing market share to crossover and SUV, BMW reportedly decides not to offer a direct successor to the 7-seat 2 series of the Gran tourer version.
The Platform should be a BMW Group front-wheel-drive design FAAR that debuted in May in a redesigned 1-series hatchback. The Platform brings improvements in weight reduction and compatibility with electrical powertrains including battery-electric options. Americans will see the platform for the first time in the 2-series Gran Coupe compact sedan that debuted in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
BMW 2 Series Active Tourer Powertrain
It is unclear what powertrains would feature in a redesigned 2-series in but a series of turbocharged inline-3 and inline-4 engines are likely. A plug-in hybrid option should also be available and finally, we can see the electrical options as well. The drive will be to the front wheels as standard but the all-wheel-drive will be available.
The current 2-series AT can also be ordered as a 2-series stretched Gran Tourer boasting a three-row seat. This model is not expected to get repeat as a customer with a larger family more and more turned against the SUV instead of the minivan.
Obviously, the dimension growth will result in a roomier cabin for passengers and baggage compared to current Active Tourer. Expect 2021 BMW’s 2 Series Active Tourer to bridge the gap between its predecessor and the larger 2 Gran Tourer series, adding a few inches in both the overall length and the wheelbase.

It may be too early to talk about design but judging from this shot-Spy 2nd generation series Active Tourer seems to adopt an SUV-like stance with a more athletic proportion and high rising height. We can also see a large front Grille that seems to be the way to go for future BMW models.
