The sports arm of the German manufacturer. While the i8 is currently bowing out, American journalists from Car And Driver say the Bavarian firm is currently developing a sports car inspired by the Vision M Next concept car (pictured) unveiled in June 2019.

Therefore, the car would be electrified and equipped with mid-rear engine architecture, like the i8, but would be significantly more efficient than this one.

Its plug-in hybrid mechanics would combine a four-cylinder turbo petrol unit, an electric motor at the rear, and another electric motor at the front. This provision would give the car all-wheel drive.

2023 BMW M6 Performances

The publication from across the Atlantic mentions a power of around 600hp and a range of around 100 kilometers in “zero emission” mode, which was announced for the Vision M Next. BMW had also promised 3s to go from 0 to 100 km / h and a top speed of 300 km / h.

The car’s construction would use carbon fiber, which would keep a reasonable mass despite the weight of the electrical system.

Nothing says that this coupe would take the stylistic inspiration of the 2023 BMW M6 to which the Vision M Next concept paid homage, but some nods would seem inevitable if the production of such a model is confirmed.
