New 2021 BMW M550i Specs Horsepower – BMW assured its customers that not all new cars would get a large grid design that boasted by X7 and a refresh of 7 Series. But so far, only 3 series have escaped from the growth of the nostrils, because this prototype for the 2021 5 series sports sedan features a much larger frontal also.

The BMW 5-Series is currently to the seventh generation and the latest model will soon reach the midpoint in its life cycle. In the BMW tradition, the car will receive a facelift to keep looking and feel refreshed during the second half of his life.

2021 BMW M550i Performances

A prototype for a facelifted version of a 5-series sedan has just been spotted. 5-series trains are sold overseas and high-performance M5 is also being tested. The camouflage material seen here shows we will be treated with a revised Grille and façade front. Similarly, the rear fascia will also be revised and we can also see a tweak to the back lamp signature.

Lattice, in particular, will likely adopt a combined double-kidney design that features on the 3-series and 7-series latest models. Fortunately, the changes do not seem to be as expansive as they are in the facelift made for the 7-Series. The 5-series in its current form has become a handsome brute.

5 Series still feels like a brand new car, but BMW now believes that a bold design is needed for more than one car to make sure they are not forgotten. Despite the camouflage, it’s pretty obvious what they’re doing.

This is not the high double-kidney we see on the concept of 4 but looks more square, similar to the 7 series. ON top of this, we have a 3D view for a light circle of lights in a BMW style that never boasts. Spyshots shows both models M Sport and M550i or M550d, with a very similar body kit, improved tooth performance, and aggressive attitude.

We didn’t expect much change to the powertrain lineup as the 5-Series already tapped to receive some new powertrains for the 2020 model year. For example, the 530e iPerformance Hybrid plug-in receives new batteries delivering more power ranges and more powerful M550i V-8.

There are likely 530i and 540i could see more power or perhaps the addition of mild-hybrid technology with the arrival of the 5-Series facelifted.

2021 BMW M550i Engine

Currently, BMW offers 530 4.4-liter V8 horsepower at 2020 M550i, up 68 HP from last year. Meanwhile, M550d boasts 400 familiar horsepower quad-turbo 3-liter. We wouldn’t be surprised if the 545e plug-in, which would offer very similar power, became a member of the M Sport family.

We have to wait a little longer to see what the BMW is not into the interior, but it’s probably just a small tweak for Infotainment and trim.

The powertrain will be the main highlight of the facelift, borrowing systems from 7er and X5. In the 7 Series, BMW installed turbocharged inline-six engines with electric motors to produce 394 horsepower (290 kilowatts). This will be detuned slightly for the 5 series. This is not the most powerful six-cylinder plug-in around, but not everyone is able to Porsche Panamera.

Rivals for the next year 5 series will include all-new A6 and E-Class, which also undergo testing in time for 2021 updates.
